RECIPE - Dorothy Mildred's Spaghetti

Tonight we made spaghetti using my Wife's Grandma's Recipe. I never met my Wife's Grandma, she had past away when my wife was a kid, my in-laws have past down some of her favorite recipes. I am so happy I can recreate some of the meals my wife grew up on.
This is a very unique approach to spaghetti, very different from any of my other recipes. We have spaghetti on a regular basis and I like to mix this one in to the rotation for a nice change of pace.

INGREDIENTS
1 - 16 oz Box of Spaghetti
1/2 - Quart of tomato juice
32oz of Longhorn or Colby Cheese
1/2 - lb of hamburger

PROCESS
Cook Spaghetti according to instructions on the box - then set aside
Fry hamburger - then set aside
Grade cheese - then set aside
Pour tomato juice into the pot and SLOWLY bring up heat to a slow boil
Then add cheese a little at a time, stirring as you go.
Once all cheese is added and melted, add the hamburger
Then add the noodles and toss and mix with tongs
Serve and Enjoy!

Tonight I served mine with a nice Asiago Cheese bread and fresh green beans

RECIPE - Glazed Donut Burger

OK so I know alot of you have seen this on Man vs Food. Heck that is where I seen it and decided I had to try and make one of these. On the episode where Adam was visiting Minor League ballparks. He had a burger at the Gateway Grizzlies stadium that traded in the traditional hamburger bun for a Krispy Kreme Donut. So as insane as that sounds, I just had to try it.
So this is very simple
INGREDIENTS
6 - Glazed Donut
1.5 - lbs of ground beef (i prefer 85% lean for this recipe)
12 - Slices of Bacon
6 - Slices of white cheddar cheese
2 - Roma Tomatoes
1 - stick of butter
salt
pepper
PROCESS
Cook your bacon in the oven on a cookie sheet until brown. (doing it in the oven will keep it flat and it will cook evenly) I cook it at 375 and watch it
Divide out ground beef into 6 equal parts and form 6 round large but fairly thin patty's
Cook your burgers on a 400 deg griddle and keep pressing them with your spatula as you cook them. Salt and Pepper to taste
Then slice your donuts in half
Melt some butter on you griddle and brown the cut side of the the donut in the butter. Remove when it gets to a nice light brown
Slice Roma tomatoes.
Put burgers back on the grill and top with bacon and cheese and cover with a lid until cheese is melted.
Top with tomato and place between you slice donut - sweet side in cut side out.
I tell you - everyone was skeptical, including myself, but everyone loved them and they all want to have them again.
This is a fun and tasty burger - it is amazing how you can get so many different flavors to dance in perfect harmony.
One side note - this is a diet killer - I could actually hear myself getting fatter as I ate it, but oh boy it was good!!!!
Try it - just don't eat it daily

RECIPE - French Toast

I was watching Alton Brown's Good Eats and he was showing us how to make French Toast. I will admit it looked really good and I may try his method sometime. But here's the deal - He started preparing it the day before. REALLY, its French Toast not BBQ Pork Shoulder. I make French Toast for my kids all the time, in about 10 minutes. It may not be as good as Alton's, but its pretty darn good, in a fraction of the time.

INGREDIENTS
6 - Eggs
1/4 - cup of milk
14 - Slices of bread
1/4 - teaspoon of nutmeg (optional)

PROCESS
Beat eggs, milk and optional nutmeg in a large flat bottom bowl
Dunk both sides of the bread in mixture for about 5 seconds each
Heat Griddle to 350 degrees
Cook each side until lightly browned

Garnish with warm syrup and butter
For the Kids I cut them into sticks
